【摘要】:TheSDNdeterminedbythismethodrepresentsanaverageovertheintervalfromthebeginningofbrakeapplicationtotherestposition.ItmaybeareasonableestimateoftheSDNduringoneormoreportionsofthespecifiedtrafficincidentifthetestconditionsandtheincidentconditionsaresufficientlysimilar.SincethisstandarddeterminesanaverageSDNfromtheinitialspeedtorest,careshouldbeexercisedinanyapplicationofthetestresultstoaportionoftheincidentthatdoesnotendwiththespecifiedtrafficincidentvehicleatrest.TheuncertaintyoftheSDNdeterminedbythismethodcanbeevaluatedbyproceduresshowninthismethod.TherelationshipbetweentheSDNofthistestmethodandtheSDNofaspecifiedtrafficincidentisbeyondthescopeofthismethod.ThesimilaritybetweentestandspecifiedtrafficincidentSDNx2019;sdependsonthesimilarityofvehicles,vehicleballastconditions,vehicleweighttransferduringbraking,vehicletires,pavementsurface,pavementsurfacecontamination,andvehiclespeedduringaparticularphaseoftheincidentsequence.TheSDNdeterminedbythismethoddoesnotnecessarilyagreeorcorrelatedirectlywithothermethodsofskidresistancemeasurements,suchasTestMethodE274.Thistestmethodissuitableforthosesituationswhereadequatesimilaritycanbeshown.Whenitisknownthataparticularwheelbrakewasnotfunctionalduringtheincident,themethodprovidesforonlythedesiredwheelstobebrakedonthetestvehicletoduplicatethespecifiedtrafficincidentvehicle.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofanaveragestoppingdistancenumber(SDN)undertheconditionsthatthismethodwasexecuted.Theexperimentalconditionsaregenerallyintendedtobesimilartothoseofaspecifiedtrafficincident.Thedatafromthismethodisnotcomparabletomeasureddistancesofaspecifiedtrafficincidentvehiclethatcannotbeshowntohavecontinuous,fullapplicationofitsbrakingsystem.1.2ThistestmethoddeterminestheSDNfromthemeasuredstoppingdistanceandinitialspeedwhenthewheelsonspecifiedaxlesarebrakedinthesamemannerasthespecifiedtrafficincidentvehicle.Theevaluationvehiclex2019;sbrakingsystemisrequiredtoduplicatethespecifiedincidentvehicleforbothtype(conventional,partialABS,orfullABS)andfunctionality(allbrakesfunctionalornot).1.3Themethoddocumentsthetestconditionsasabasisforevaluatingtheirsimilaritytoconditionsofaspecifiedtrafficincident.1.4Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetest,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.1.5Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
