【摘要】:Liquidpenetrantexaminationmethodsindicatethepresence,location,and,toalimitedextent,thenatureandmagnitudeofthedetecteddiscontinuities.Thistestmethodisnormallyusedforproductionexaminationofcriticalcomponentsorstructureswhen(a)removalofexcessiveamountsofpenetrantfromdiscontinuitiesusingawater-washableprocesscanbeaproblemand(b)theuseofahydrophilicremoverisimpractical.Liquidpenetrantexaminationmethodsindicatethepresence,location,and,toalimitedextent,thenatureandmagnitudeofthedetecteddiscontinuities.Thispracticeisnormallyusedforproductionexaminationofcriticalcomponentsorstructureswhen(a)removalofexcessiveamountsofpenetrantfromdiscontinuitiesusingawater-washableprocesscanbeaproblemand(b)theuseofahydrophilicremoverisimpractical.
