【摘要】:Thecloudpointtemperatureisareproduciblecharacteristicofcertainpurenonionicsurfactants.Itisalsocharacteristicofcertainnonionicsurfactantformulatedsystems.Thistestmethodisappropriateforbothsystems.Note18212;Ifthetransitionfromadistinctlycloudytoaclearsolutionisnotsharp,thatis,ifitdoesnottakeplacewithinarangeof1x00B0;C,thistestmethodisnotappropriate.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaproceduretodeterminethex201C;cloudpointx201D;ofnonionicsurfactantsordetergentsystems.CloudPointisthetemperatureatwhichdissolvedcomponents(solidsorliquids)arenolongercompletelysoluble,precipatingasasecondphasegivingthefluidacloudyappearance.Itislimitedtothosesurfactantsanddetergentsystemsforwhichthevisiblesolubilitychangeoccursoverarangeof1x00B0;Corlessatconcentrationsof0.5to1.0%inDIwaterbetween30and95x00B0;C.1.2ChemicalLimitations8212;Nonionicsurfactantsthatexhibitacharacteristiccloudpointingeneraltermsconsistofawater-in-solublemoietycondensedwith50to75%byweightofethyleneoxide.Ifthelevelofethoxylationistoolowthesurfactantmaynotbewatersolubleattemperatureslessthan30x00B0;C,andifitistoohighnocloudpointmayexist.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
